LEARN ABOUT THE NEW SUPER BEVERAGE

FROM FLOWER TO CUP

Chicory is a beautiful blue flower that grows around the world, even in Sweden on certain roadsides you can see the beautiful blue color. In Central Europe, the soil and climate are perfect for chicory, and are therefore a common plant on plantations, both for use in cooking and as a coffee substitute, and simply to have in the home as a flower.

The flower is pulled out of the soil to bring up its root, like a root vegetable. The root is then used to make the powder. The root is then cut into pieces to be roasted, giving the lovely roasted flavour with a bitterness reminiscent of coffee. After this, the chicory is mixed into a powder that dissolves perfectly in warm water.

Chicory has long been used as both a flavoring agent for regular coffee, something that is very common in, for example, New Orleans in the USA, and as a direct substitute for coffee. When coffee was a limited commodity, several different alternatives were tested, for example, oats were roasted without much success. Finally, chicory was found which had an almost identical taste to coffee. Also,

making a cup of chicory coffee is a very simple process - heat water and stir in the powder. The new drink became popular around the world, in addition to the US, it is also a common drink in France, Belgium, and Spain. Thanks to the simplicity, taste, and potential health benefits, we call AVY BLACK a super beverage.

WHY DRINK CHICORY?

Chicory is naturally caffeine-free, and although it tastes like coffee, chicory has none of the bad side effects of coffee. The chicory root, from which the powder is created, therefore contains no caffeine from the start. Decaffeinated coffee, on the other hand, is created from regular coffee that undergoes a chemical process. This process then contributes to leaving chemical substances in it coffee that

you drink. Also, this isn't completely caffeine-free either, even though the name suggests so. You simply don't get any of the side effects that coffee and decaffeinated coffee have. Chicory coffee gives you the taste of coffee, but nothing else is to be confused. Works perfectly to drink as black coffee or with milk as a latte.
